OBITUARY


Cynthia Allen, 99

 Cynthia McWilliams Allen, 99, of Lynch, KY; passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Britthaven of Tri-Cities.

Mrs. Allen was born in Pittsburg, GA and lived the majority of her life in Lynch. She was a member of the Lynch United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, Executive Board, Chairperson of Pastor Parish relations and a Kentucky Colonel. She was a graduate of Lynch High School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar E. Allen; a daughter, Nancy Allen Prather; and a son-in-law, Jack Adams.

Survivors include her son, Don “Pig” Allen (Liz), daughters, Peggy Allen Adams; and Judy Allen Bowery (Gary); and son-in-law, Jim Prather, nine grandchildren, Allen, Chris, Kevan, and Jamie Prather, Missy P. Pardo, Cynthia A. Adams, Eural Allen, Tony Bowery, Britt B. Hensley and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 12, 2010 from 5-8pm at the Lynch United Methodist Church. Services will be conducted Sunday June 13, 2010 at 11am at the church with Reverend Hugh Webb officiating.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and granddaughters and Freddie and Gino Marsili.

Interment will follow at Peaceful Acres Cemetery, Cumberland, KY.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to Lynch United Methodist Church, Church Street, Lynch, KY 40855.

Tri City Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
