OBITUARY


Elijah Myers, 79

 Elijah Charles “Chaulk” Myers 79, Benham, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at his home.

He was a retired Federal Mine Inspector for 20 years and was a member of the Benham Lodge #880, Lexington Consistory and the Oleika Shrine Temple. He attended the Church of God of Prophesy.

He is preceded in death by his parents John Sr. and Etta Mae Burnett Myers, his wife, Pearl Creech Myers and daughter, Donna Tippett.

He is survived by one daughter, Libby Lewis and husband Hershel, Benham; three brothers, Carl Myers and wife Liz, Benham; Doug Myers, Somerset, KY; Johnny Myers and wife Agnes, Louisiana; five sisters, Thelma Mays, Oregon; Lou Johnson and husband Sam, Lexington; Mae Bailey, Lynch; Dorothy Necessary and Glenna Lenzie, FL; three grandchildren, Melissa Bell and husband Michael, Winston Salem, NC; Laura Crumbly and husband Larry, Georgia; and Misty Tucker, Georgia; nine great-grandchildren, Destiny and Christina Hall, Larry and Brandon Crumbley, Nicholas and Tyler Tucker, all of GA; Eli, Matthew "Bubba" and Lucas Bell, of NC.

Visitation will be held Friday June 4, 2010 from 6-9 pm with Masonic rites held at 7pm. Funeral services will be held Friday at 8pm in the chapel of Tri City Funeral Home with Johnny Sizemore officiating. Military rites will be held Saturday, June 5 at 11am at the Creech Cemetery, Benham.

Pallbearers will be Hershel Lewis, Ralph Myers, Sam Johnson, Nicholas Tucker, Mike Casolari and Melissa Bell.

Tri City Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
